Programs
The J.O.Y. School operates 6 week, 5 hours a day program during the Summer. Children come from local counties and others from far away with their vacationing families. No child is turned away. No matter the severity of his/her disabilities. There is no tuition at this time because of the care and love for those who service and give to support and be a part of it. A well-qualified director, nurses in training, professional therapists, local youth volunteers, visiting church youth groups and the most caring and loving staff of professionally trained men and women return every year and work tirelessly to ensure the school’s success.
The J.O.Y. School University Program is for adults over Age 21 who have a variety of abilities and enjoy social time with others.
This group of adults meet on Mondays and Tuesdays to engage in activities such as arts & crafts, exercise/dance, gardening and greenhouse planting, bells playing, lunch, and social time. We also go on Holiday Themed field trips, attend Special Olympics, and AKTION Club activities. The typical calendar for this group of friends is September-May Mondays and Tuesday 9:00-2:00 at the Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church.
